Sport

I have never been sporty, and many friends will testify to this! The cold and wet afternoons playing football were the weekly curse to endure! When I could choose to do squash instead when I was 15 made games afternoons much more enjoyable. At University I went to each of the annual Sports Fairs, simply to pick up freebies! That is, until September 2008 when I came across Taekwondo.

I had occasionally thought about taking up a martial art, but never very seriously. Even when watching the Taekwondo demo at the 2008 Sports Fair, I wasn't really considering joining. However, I picked up a leaflet and went along to the no-commitment Give It a Go session the following week. I thoroughly enjoyed it and signed up there and then. Since then, I haven't looked back!

Taekwondo Progress & Competitions

I am currently a Red Belt in Taekwondo, intending to become at least a black tag before I finish my PhD.

I taken part in the following competitions:

These photos were taken at the December 2010 grading when I was a blue tag:

Squash

I do enjoy squash, even though I am terrible at it! I have my own racquet and at one stage was on the University Chemistry Society's squash ladder! I am always up for a game!
